Wine experts say this Red wine delivers as promised, with plenty of fruit and some wood. The structure is solid, and the wine shows some firm, dry tannins. But the fruit is right in the middle, and it finishes with a touch of final acidity. It should have much better of a track record in years to come. Good, rich, spicy cola and red currant flavors, wrapped into fine tannins, and fresh acidity. The vineyard is in the Santa Rosa Plain, a subregion on the Central Coast, producing decent Pinots. This wine, though, shows a lot of promise. Very mineral, crisp, tight and tense, this has the sort of acidity that a fine Pinot might need, with a sharp, intense flavor of green berries. Yet this is Madeira, and you can drink it now. The winery`s packaging shows that as a potential wine. Way too young to drink now.
