Wine experts say this Red wine is the epitome of a Napa Cabernet. Beautiful and balanced, with crisp, tight, fleshy flavors of blackberries, currants and oak. The tannins are just fine, and the finish is Dr. Pepper in style. The winemaker even lent his support. This is a perfectly appealing wine, but a bit too soft for ageability. Try after 2010. Already showing good focus and pinpoint acidity, you`re better off expanding this into a range of its characteristics. From a single parcel of the excellent Freedom Hill Vineyard, this hints at intriguing blackberries and black cherries, with attendant spices of smoke and black pepper, and finishes long and oak. Pretty dense and balanced, but priced appropriately. Rather dilute wine, this has a lively exuberance on the palate. Flavors of raspberry and cassis are accented by hints of dusty spice and orange rind.
