Wine experts say this Red wine delivers as promised, with ripe black cherry and even a touch of cocoa layered generously around soft, rounded tannins. Drink now. A new Burgundy de Nîmes, 55% of it new is announced by winemaker Christian Roguenin as an after-dinner finish. His wines are aged in oak, 50% in neutral oak. This is yet another successful vintage for this brand, which can be enjoyed now. A very fine Cabernet, dry and firm, though a little thin. It has a great balance of fruit and acidity, and feels fine and beautiful in the mouth. Give it a few more years to let the flavors surface. This is a great Pinot Noir, gorgeefully rich in cherries, licorice, bacon, sweet smoky sandalwood and sandalwood flavors, and beautifully made and far out of the traditional Virginia style.
Wine experts say this Red wine delivers as promised, with bright acidity, slightly creamy mousse and clean bubbles. Pair this wine with steak au poivre that is inexplicably spiced up. Good acidity saves the day. Parcels of vines on the Côte des Blancs, this rich wine shows definite Cabernet Sauvignon perfumes. It also has tannins in a structure that is obviously too much. The result is a wine with weight and super-ripe black plum fruits, but the fruit is too light, not enough integrated and the wine ends lacking structure and freshness. Tobacco and espresso aromas come with a note of catmint, while the palate on this single-vineyard Palo Alto Cabernet is brisk and single-minded. Burnt toast, hickory smoke, coffee and cherry notes define the flavor profile, while a medicinal, herbal helping of herbal tannins tries to come into focus.
Wine experts say this Red wine delivers as advertised at affordable prices. It`s dry, crisp in acidity and ultrarefined, with appealing cranberry fruit flavors. Berry and cherry aromas are on the money. Feels chewy and a little edgy in the mouth, with plum and cherry flavors as well as a certain heaviness. Finishes a touch flat. The best of the new releases from Michael Florentino, which has changed hands since this vintage was harvested at the Howell Mountain vineyard in Atlas Peak. This is a crisp, fresh, vibrant Pinot Noir, with lovely raspberry and cherry jam fruit. Dark, soft and rich, this Pinot has a complex array of cherry, red currant, cola, cocoa and spice flavors. It`s nice and dry and fast, a Pinot that will be very drinkable now and likely will be better in a few years.
Wine experts say this Red wine delivers as advertised. It`s dry, crisply acidic and brisk with raspberry, lime, white tobacco and herb flavors. It tastes clean and familiar, and will be great with grilled steaks and chops. This blend of Vermentino (70%), Fiano, Incrocio Manzoni, Verdicchio and Petit Manseng opens with generous tones of peach, apricot, lemon curd and soft almond paste. The wine is creamy and soft on the close. This is an interesting wine by virtue of its alcohol level, but the acidity is crisp and helps the wine tingle in the mouth. With lively grapefruit and crisp apple flavors, the wine is fresh and ready to drink. Fresh and fruity with dominating notes of berry, herbs, earth and mint. It`s light and airy in the mouth with solid structure and not much varietal character. Herbal berry and herbal aromas are herbal and scratchy.
