Wine experts say this Red wine delivers as advertised. It`s dry, crisply acidic and softly focused, with raspberry, cherry, cola and sandalwood flavors. Pair it with cold cuts to cut spice. Full-bodied, broad and a bit oily in texture, this concentrated Pinot lacks in fruit and roundness to match the oak, so it makes a nice pairing with welcome balance. Food-friendly, it`s an easy, food-friendly wine. Minty and earthy, with horse blood and animal hide on the nose. In the mouth, this is raw and herbal, with herbal berry flavors as well as sweet roasted meat. Scratchy, clacky and tough on the finish. The earthy, bouquet is beginning to fade, while the palate remains primary and heavy, with herbal flavors and a touch of burnt toast. The acidity is very prominent on the finish.

But the palate is dry and tannic, with some punchy acidity. For the price, you get lots and tons of zest. Drink up. The cool steeped vineyard site above the Lot valley givespsy type of concentration and concentration. The wine, for sure, is very tannic and astringent. Yet it`s very drinkable and fairly balanced, with rich extracted flavors of chocolate, cassis and cherry, with a jacket of sweet, toasty oak. You can certainly drink it now, but the youthful fruit and acids suggest ageability. Give it until mid-2010. Just delicious.
