Wine experts say this Red wine delivers as promised, with bright acidity, slightly funky flavors and a dry, but ripe, structure. The fruit is front and center in terms of ripeness, while also showing some hints of oak. Plenty of new French oak, way too yeasty for its own good. Give this a few years for the modest tannins to integrate. Right now, there`s vanilla and lush cherries, and the acidity is brisk, but balanced. Yet it`s lemony, and will appeal to fans of fresh, elegant Chardonnays. Open this year and give it a good sip. It`s bone dry, with brisk acidity, and hints of new oak and lees, but already proves itself with deep, concentrated flavors of green apple, pineapple, honeydew and vanilla custard. This is a great entry-level offering from this Lake County producer.
