Wine experts say this Red wine delivers. It`s dry, brisk in acidity and ultrarefined, offering an array of raspberries, cherries, currants, sandalwood and white pepper flavors. New oak adds smoky, bacon and bacon-sticking qualities, and the alcohol is refreshingly moderate. The grapes come from this Sonoma County appellation, in the western part of the appellation, which is a good place to start. Very delicate, yet so finely extracted, this wine exudes freshness and smells of ripe red cherries, butterscotch and chocolate, brightened by that magical freshness that makes the variety so popular. In the mouth, it`s forward and alive, with a long, spicy finish. It`s dry, but so elegant, so penetrating, you find yourself dancing across the finish. Best after dinner, but perhaps not as long as you`d expect. This full-bodied wine has much of the richness manifested as sweetness.
